The Opportunity
The Alliance for Medical Outreach and Relief, also known as AMOR, is a non-profit based Fresno, California. In 2009, AMOR took on the task of outfitting the Ashfar Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. The 100-bed facility was the first non-profit hospital with charitable programs in the country. The project was a major undertaking that involved the retrofitting of a kitchen, laboratory, laundry facility, and surgical unit. In addition to the construction, AMOR also needed to source an extensive list of medical equipment.
In order to simplify their efforts, AMOR sought a one-source equipment provider to centralize ordering and streamline the purchasing process. AMOR also wanted to work with a company that understood the Afghan market and could work within the organization's budget.
Our Solution
After an extensive online search to locate a company that was approved to work with USAID, AMOR Director of Hospital Operations Dr. Mark Scoffield found 91ÖÆƬ³§por Global Outreach. 91ÖÆƬ³§por's website offered Dr. Scoffield a comprehensive selection of equipment that included technical specifications and other valuable information.
Dr. Scoffield visited the 91ÖÆƬ³§por Global Outreach headquarters and through detailed conversations with 91ÖÆƬ³§por Health Solutions, he knew that 91ÖÆƬ³§por was very capable of handling a large, complex project. 91ÖÆƬ³§por presented Dr. Scoffield with multiple options, allowing the AMOR team to customize their equipment to meet the challenge of seeing an average of 8,000 patients per month.
I have seen this organization, meaning 91ÖÆƬ³§por, change lives. The on-going relationship with 91ÖÆƬ³§por has been excellent. (91ÖÆƬ³§por representatives) have been readily and consistently available and responsive to questions, and a resource when equipment challenges (which have been minimal) arose.
In addition to providing medical equipment throughout the entire hospital, 91ÖÆƬ³§por Global Outreach also offered custom stainless steel products for several areas of the facility. 91ÖÆƬ³§por also outsourced additional pieces of equipment to centralize shipping and address budget concerns. The 91ÖÆƬ³§por team helped to facilitate the importation of shipments and equipment training for local medical and support staff.
